What's for dinner? - Sushi [Recipe]

Delicious Sushi
Sushi, a Japanese dish that can be made with much creativity. Examples of sushi are makizushi, inarizushi and nigirizuhi. Sushi is one of the healthier foods which is rather popular in Melbourne. Plus, it's affortable and comes in a wide variety of choice of fillings. There are also quite a few good Japanese restaurants here that offer scrumptious Japanese cuisine, including sushi.

Well, for my dinner, I choose the make the most basic sushi, makizuhi. Among the ingredients I use are roasted seaweed (nori sheets), avocado, cucumber, rice, tuna, egg and cooked Japanese rice. To start, I seasoned the cooked rice with vinegar, sugar and some salt. Then I roll the ingredients with rice and nori sheet before cutting it to slices to eat. Of course, you can make sushi in the uramaki style, where the rice is folded outwards with the seaweed and fillings inside (People often sprinkle sesame seeds, fish roe or seaweed on the sides of this type of sushi). Apart from that, the fillings can be substituted with various ingredients from smoked salmon, pickled carrots, crab sticks to fried shrimps. Sushi is often complimented with wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce.

So want to have a healthier choice for dinner? Eat sushi! Itadakimasu (いただきます) ~

Weather in Melbourne.

Just came back from class and it started pouring like dogs and cats. It's so weird how the weather in Melbourne changes. It's so unpredictable, more unpredictable than how an Aquarius thinks and reacts. It can be freezing cold for a week and sizzling hot the next day. As a result, people have to wear lots of layers just in case the weather turns from summer to winter or otherwise. My housemate even commented that Melbourne only has 2 seasons, i.e. summer and winter (which I agree to some extent), and though it seem unreasonable to think such way, but reality has push us to assume so. I had finally bid goodbye to my heater and hello to my fan yesterday but within 24 hours, due to the weather, I'm having second thoughts. To survive in the bad weather, umbrella is an essential thing to have when your not at home. Maybe raincoat have similar use but it ain't that cool. Plus, I hardly see people in raincoats these days.

I often think that people's feelings can be associated with weather. Just like how weather can be warm and sunny, cold and windy, cloudy and breezy, people experience similar ups and downs in emotions.  Apart from that, just like how a rainbow brightens the day after a storm, a meaningful or memorable event add surprises to our dull daily lives. So are you like the weather? With big lapse of change in feelings and emotions? Or do you dress grey or black when the weather's gloomy and colorfully when the weather's bright and sunny? No matter how, we must learn to adapt the the weather and learn to except that people have different emotions and thoughts. It's no use cursing the weather when it's bad, just think optimistically and remember that the sun will always appear again after all the big harsh raindrops that fall on your back. Similarly, no point being angry and harbor hatred but learn to love and accept each other's wrongdoings and forgive for a better world.

To pack or unpack?

Dear Rosabelle,

As you know, I'm leaving to Melbourne today. Well, for a girl, one of the hardest task to accomplish is packing the luggage. There's so much to pack and arrange. At the end of the day, I'm rather amazed at how I packed and arrayed tonnes of stuff into that small luggage of mine.

Here's the list that's essential to bring along (which I rather squeezed into the bag):
1. Shoes (I bought along 4 pairs)
2. Cosmetics (Just some blusher, sunblock, moisturizing cream, etc.)
3. Clothes (Which took up more than half of the bag)
4. Stationery (As I'm going overseas to study)
5. Laptop (A must bring to anywhere I go!)
6. iPhone (My only entertainment when in the airport or in the plane)

Oh, Rosabelle, if only there was a teleport system, then I can just teleport my whole closet to Melbourne. And imagine the weight of my luggage !!! I have such a difficult time carrying it downstairs, it was even more tiring than running a marathon !! Thank God my brother was there to help me (or more like he did all the physical work of shifting the luggage down the fleet of stairs).

So what's the tips to packing your luggage?
-Only bring necessities (depends on individuals) and stuff that's easy to pack
-Ensure the stuff you bring are not banned to the country you're travelling to
-Never (Yes, never ever) have you luggage over-stuffed
-Make sure your luggage is locked and labelled
How to pack your luggage?

So that's all. Wish me a safe trip to the land of kangaroos yea ~
